Individual Learning
Planner
An effective individual learning plan (ILP) is at the heart of assessment,
learning, support and achievement. It helps the learner to become
an active, motivated partner in learning. The ILP is a personalised,
flexible route map to guide each learner's journey. ILP is a
communication aid between learner and mentor, - planning the
route to success.
ILP is also a dynamic working document, owned and used by the
learner, supported by teachers, employers and others. ILP is
a record of learning goals and progression routes, initial and
diagnostic assessment information, learning targets, progress
and achievements within different contexts for learning.
ILP is a communication aid between and learner and others who
support the learning process in various contexts. ILP is a way
of making and reinformcing links and connections between topics,
subject and personal, learning and thinking skills.
Achieving your Students
ambitions
The Individual Learning Planner (ILP) from Derventio Solutions and
Shireland Learning, forms part of the School Improvement & Performance
(SchoolIP) suite of educational products. Written by British
teachers, this user friendly software will provide students
with the facility to request a mentor. Together, they can set
objectives and complete goals whilst blogging about their experiences.
The ILP allows goals and targets to be set for students helping
them to achieve their ambitions. The blog feature allows students
and mentors to communicate on a regular basis to discuss progress
towards their chosen goals. Useful documents and links can also
be added to each of the goals to provide help and assistance.
All students automatically have access to their Individual Learning
Plan, by default. Simply define staff members who are available
for student mentoring. Each student can select a predefined
style or design of screen that will be remembered. Each time
the student accesses the ILP their individual style will be
displayed.
